Put more money in your savings account

Thursday September 18, 2008

Ladies, have you ever really considered just how much you spend on beauty products? You're probably spending a lot of money that could be going into your savings account. The average woman has a well stocked beauty cabinet that usually includes over 20 different beauty products. When it comes down to it, your money is better off in a savings account.

Expensive items don't necessarily work any better than the cheaper versions - you're just paying extra for the brand name. You're spending money on items that you can get cheaper, items you don't necessarily need, and items that will just sit in the cabinet and not get used and thrown out. If you go for budget items, you could be saving yourself a lot of money. This extra money is probably better off in a high interest saving account where it will earn you more money.

Here are some budget beauty tips:

  • Opt for moisturisers that already have sunscreen in them.
  • Baby wipes work as make up removers.
  • Browse the cheaper range of beauty products - these work just as well as the high end items.
  • Colour your own hair and find a cost effective hairdresser.
  • Organise a girl's night in and give each other manicures and pedicures.
  • Drink lots of water - your skin will look great.
  • Limit the amount of lipsticks and lipglosses you buy. Go for practical colours that go well with your clothes.
  • Learn how to make DIY facials.
  • Go to sales for beauty products but have a set budget and don't use your credit card.
  • Eat healthy - your skin will thank you for it.

Think that your money will be more useful in the best saving account you can find? Compare savings accounts now and invest in your savings, not your beauty regime.
